inside-sourcing
Many issues are a matter of perspective ...
Changes in IT are the order of the day. Technologies often change. Even many IT concepts are revised, discarded or renewed. The requirements on applications, arising from changing business processes, are constantly presenting new challenges for the generally small IT teams in small to medium-sized businesses.

Outsourcing IT services within
These tasks often take up the entire time of IT departments and let processing and maintenance of the IT infrastructure such as storage, servers, operating systems and networks take a back seat. As, however, the infrastructure is mainly responsible for the smooth operation of IT and company processes, Autowork has developed a concept which enables the outsourcing of IT infrastructure within the company, including full service and regular renewals.
Company IT is increasingly becoming an information platform for decision-making. The interaction with customers and suppliers, including the related processes, contribute significantly to company success and revenues. It is virtually impossible to do without IT as the backbone of information. Prolonged downtimes are often critical to the company.
In the mid-sized sector, this results in the necessity for companies to run their own IT within the company or at their location, whereas, on the other hand, the main emphasis for internal IT staff is on the maintenance and development of applications. Given the need for flexibility and security, however, outsourcing the infrastructure is not practicable.
Successful components
Assessment of the existing infrastructure during the reference period as regards performance requirements (CPU, Memory, Disk IO).
Designing IT consolidation through virtualisation and hardware improvement.
Defining the necessary availability, data security and SLAs.
Implementing agreements according to milestones. Standardising identical system components.
Automating trouble-shooting by using redundant components and adapted IT workflows.
Different perspectives
In order to solve the increasingly complex IT tasks for clients, Autowork has developed a solution to outsource the existing infrastructure without involving third companies. The requirements regarding availability and data security are identified and then improved in consultation with the customer.
Using state-of-the-art technology, the infrastructure will be refined and updated in line with requirements concerning security and availability. Taking advantage of the opportunities for consolidation as well as improving performance enables cost-efficient, internal operation of the infrastructure, including far away locations as well.
The customer's skilled IT staff will continue performing the administration tasks and adjusting applications to the daily business, while maintaining all rights and access options.
Autowork, with its employees, hardware, software and SLAs, ensures that the infrastructure consisting of servers, desktops, storage, operating systems and standard applications will provide stabile and flexible fulfilment of customer requirements in this company-service situation.

IT to GORun Here ... ?
Is it necessary to do everything yourself? You are used to buying or leasing your IT systems and running them on your premises. This is a business model in which systems grow bit by bit over the years. However, this creates a very heterogeneous IT landscape which prevents companies from undertaking sweeping changes, because many applications are inevitably tied to their hardware and operating systems. Red Carpet: VMware with IBM BladeCenter SThe challenge: More with lessMany companies are searching for new technologies and strategies to simplify their IT and reduce their IT-related costs. Until recently, the IT infrastructure of companies has usually been limited for budget and space reasons. A virtualised IT infrastructure is able to provide you with significant advantages - among others, IT consolidation, reduced and from a single source. IBM and VMware make things easy for you. They offer a cost-efficient entry into the virtualised IT world for small to medium-sized companies with VMware ESX4 hypervisor, installed on one or more powerful IBM BladeCenter HS22 XM Bladeservers in a BladeCenter S chassis.

IT from your wall-socketWho is operating my IT?You are used to buying or leasing IT systems and running them on your premises. In such a business model, systems grow bit by bit over the years. Due to the historic development, it is often not possible to undertake far-reaching changes, as many applications depend on certain systems and operating systems. Cloud ComputingCloud Computing is a big word, but what does it mean for our clients? The basic idea is very simple. Take a few applications, run them from a central location in a data centre, and make them accessible to any number of people who pay for them as they are using them. These users can then take advantage of all the services the IT industry has to offer, and use these services to carry out a specific job without requiring their own infrastructure. This general portrayal makes this relationship sound both very simple and very useful. One must, however, differentiate as to when and under which criteria it can actually prove useful for each individual target group. Last Updated (Thursday, 22 December 2011 20:48)
