IT to GO

Run Here ... ?

Or Take Away ... ?

Is it necessary to do everything yourself?

You are used to buying or leasing your IT systems and running them on your premises. This is a business model in which systems grow bit by bit over the years. However, this creates a very heterogeneous IT landscape which prevents companies from undertaking sweeping changes, because many applications are inevitably tied to their hardware and operating systems.

What would it be like, if IT was just as easy to get as a coffee? Then we would all be able to make a decision on a day-to-day basis: With milk and sugar? Or black? Well, this possibility is not all that unrealistic.

Autowork has specialised in virtualising IT infrastructure for mid-sized companies and providing it to their customers in form of an outsourcing solution. Customers who make use of this service are able to decide on a daily basis on the number of systems or licenses they require and pay for.

By abstracting IT systems with the means of virtualisation, it is possible to break up the operation of company IT into different levels.

This means that either the entire IT infrastructure, or only selected components, can be run on Autowork systems, which consist of CISCO, IBM and Oracle/SUN high-end hardware and feature the best possible security. We operate from selected high-availability data centres provided by for example, Level3 or IBM.

By taking advantage of this service, all features and services that have hitherto been running in the vaults of your company, can be provided to you with the Autowork infrastructure.

Stay in Control

You will remain in charge of the administration and management of your data and applications. Through virtualisation, your company IT will gain maximum flexibility and you will be able to enhance or alter services required for daily business at the mere touch of a button.

Data Security

Present-day outsourcing offers security for both your data and your systems on a level which is usually only available to large corporations or military institutions. Security is achieved through multiple data mirroring. This means that the data is made available in form of a copy wherever it is needed: across cities, countries, or even continents. All running systems are provided with a redundant backup in order to ensure that the failure of an entire system or an individual component will not lead to a shutdown.

Internal system monitors detect failures and switch relevant components off automatically. The respective manufacturers automatically dispatch the required spare parts, which are then exchanged during operation (hotswap).

Failures which require manual intervention are reported to the operating staff. Changes can be carried out at any time by either your own IT staff or our service personnel, thus incurring minimal downtimes.

Data backups can be viewed online and snapshot views of up to 255 data backups from past hours, days or months can be accessed online.

We will regularly supply you with your virtual servers and data on tape for your records.

Conversion

Converting systems to the Data Centre is very easy. Existing systems from the physical world are converted to the virtual world through virtualisation (P2V). These virtual machines are independent from drivers, raid controllers or other hardware features. Systems which had previously existed as stand-alone systems now run in high availability clusters under VMware or XEN.

Conversely, if servers need to be migrated to new physical machines in a Data Center, for example, they can be transformed using the virtual world (V2P).

Adaptations concerning disk space and partitioning requirements, as well as calculating the number of CPUs and memory (RAM), can easily be performed during conversion.
