Virtual Infrastructure
How does it work? The virtual hardware platform is implemented by virtual machines by VMware and enables an effective virtual infrastructure. It creates a uniform hardware image - implemented within the software - on which operating systems and applications can be executed. Building upon this platform are VMware products that enable the administration and provision of virtual computers, continuous workload consolidation between the physical servers and the use of VMotion™technology to guarantee the mobility of the virtual machines.
Thanks to virtual infrastructure, IT organizations are able to offer new services and change the amount of resources allocated to a software service, at any time. Hardware management is completely isolated from software management, and the hardware equipment can be considered as being a uniform pool for processing, storage and network services, which can be allocated and deallocated to and from the various software services very swiftly and flexibly. |
