VLAN Switch Security
Prevention VLAN ON Demand - the latest switch generation can prevent a PC from infecting the network or servers as soon as it is plugged into the LAN. Dynamic VLAN allows systems with outdated virus definitions or missing patch levels to connect with a quarantine-VLAN.

Flipper or the Great White? Cisco differentiates in your data stream.
All systems which do not fulfil the security requirements are thus kept out of the company's live environment.
Holiday computers
Systems which have been switched off for a longer period of time due to holidays or illness often do not have the appropriate security settings. The virus patterns are not up-to-date. The security software against attacks is out of date. Maybe even the operating system is not up-to-date, either.
'Mobile homecomers'
Employees who are on the road and have been infected while using WLANs or other networks with different configurations, present a significant risk. This risk of a non-conform configuration can be reduced to a minimum by excluding the systems from the operative network.
Preventive solution
All systems are equipped with an agent which checks the availability of company standards before they are released into the operative network. When company standards are available, it is possible to work without restrictions. Should there be any deviations, however, the system will then receive the necessary changes through downloads or updates via a quarantine VLAN. As soon as all changes have been completed, the system can work within the company network like all other checked PCs.
